Start with a beginner-friendly FDM 3D printer, an easy-to-print filament such as PLA, and a simple 3D model. Prepare the model using compatible slicing software, load the filament, and follow your printer’s setup instructions. PLA is usually the easiest material for your first prints.

3D printer filament is the thermoplastic material used in FDM 3D printers. It comes as a thin plastic strand, usually 1.75 mm in diameter, which is melted and extruded layer by layer to create a 3D object.

FDM stands for Fused Deposition Modeling. It is a 3D printing process where thermoplastic filament is melted and extruded through a nozzle, building the object layer by layer.

Choose the material based on your project. PLA is ideal for easy printing and detailed indoor models, PETG for stronger functional parts, ABS or ASA for more demanding and heat-resistant applications, and TPU when you need flexible, rubber-like parts.

The best 3D printer depends on what you want to make. Beginners usually benefit from an easy-to-use printer with automatic calibration, while more advanced users may need an enclosed printer, higher temperatures, a larger build volume, or multi-material printing. 

A Master Spool is a reusable spool designed to hold filament refills. Instead of buying a new plastic spool every time, you simply place a new filament refill onto the same Master Spool and reuse it for your next print. This reduces plastic waste while making it easy to switch between different filament refills.
